As a Junior eLearning Developer at CDS DS, you will be an integral part of the Digital Learning Design (DLD) Team, actively contributing to the creation of engaging, innovative digital content.

This is a creative, hands-on role where you will collaborate with senior developers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop digital learning solutions using a variety of media. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in multimedia production, graphic design, and animation, while supporting the end-to-end development of eLearning content.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for design, storytelling, and learning technologies who is looking to build a career in digital content creation and instructional design.

Due to the nature of our business, we take security very seriously and require all employees to hold the necessary security clearances. Ideally, you will already hold DV Security clearance or are willing to undergo security clearance as required

Responsibilities

You will become the primary focal point for the following:

  • Assist in the creation of interactive and engaging digital learning content using authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, H5P, and Rise 360.
  • Collaborate with the creative team members to implement design concepts and follow storyboards.
  • Upload and update eLearning courses to Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring content meets client requirements.
  • Help test and troubleshoot eLearning modules to ensure functionality, user experience, and compliance with SCORM standards.
  • Provide basic technical support to the team and clients regarding eLearning content and LMS platforms.
  • Participate in project meetings to understand project goals, timelines, and tasks.
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance (QA) by checking courses for functionality, typos, and adherence to style guidelines.
  • Research and learn new tools and techniques for digital learning development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work progress and processes.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Proficiency in using creative tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Some experience or education in eLearning development, instructional design, multimedia production, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, H5P, and Rise 360.
  • Strong graphic design skills and an eye for detail in layouts, typography, and visual storytelling.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering positive working relationships.
  • Ability to edit and produce multimedia content (videos, animations, and audio).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to creative discussions.
  • Basic understanding of SCORM standards and eLearning technologies.
  • A passion for learning technologies, storytelling, and creating meaningful content.
  • Ability to obtain or already holding DV security clearance.

Desirable

  • Experience with gamification or knowledge of animation and 3D modelling.
  • Photography or video production skills.
  • An interest in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) solutions for learning.
  • Curiosity about or experience with AI-driven tools and their application in digital learning.
  • UK driving licence (useful but not required).
  • Basic understanding of LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle) and course management processes.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, JSP 822 and DSAT Quality Standards, including required stages, activities, and outputs.
