The role
As a Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be crucial team member within the Babcock Supply Chain Team who support the Royal Naval Base at Clyde.
Day-to-day, you will buy goods and services to support submarine availability. You will also:
- Process requisition to purchase orders on spend supporting maintenance of the operational fleet.
- Order book management, clear aged debt by liaising with supplier and end users.
- Establish cost savings.
- Data Management – work on repeat purchases, order book management and identifying agreements to be put in place.
- Competitive tendering utilising SAP and Coupa, response scoring, management of awarded supplier to conclusion, negotiation of terms and conditions.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience
- Proven experience in procurement is preferred, however we are open to providing training to a motivated Supply Chain Graduate
Qualifications
- Minimum HND in Supply Chain or equivalent work experience
Security clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
