The role
Based in our Finance department, the Accounts Payable Assistant will primarily support the expenses function, managing the entire process for our prepaid card solution. Responsibilities also include reviewing and approving expense claims within our system. Additionally, the role involves assisting Accounts Payable Specialists with tasks such as supplier invoice processing, query resolution, purchase card reconciliation, and airline statement reconciliations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the expenses function, including reviewing and approving claims
- Reconcile airline statements
- Verifying and recording transactions made using pre-paid cards
- Create and distribute Department Query Sheets
- Liaise with internal sales specialists and ticketing teams as the first line of support for invoice queries
- Assist AP Specialists in ensuring timely invoice processing
- Perform other ad hoc duties as required
About you
You are self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail, eager to develop skills in Accounts Payable. You thrive in a busy environment with tight deadlines and are enthusiastic about working in the travel industry.
Experience required:
- Previous experience of working within an expenses team or accounts payable role would be advantageous, but not essential
- Self-motivated with an eye for detail
- Pro-active and able to use own initiative
- Flexible team player and willing to take on additional tasks
- Able to work to tight deadlines & within a busy environment
- Desire to learn and develop skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong numerical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
