Your role

As a Mechanical Engineering placement student, you'll get to work in diverse teams across all of our markets. We'll trust and support you to work where your interests lie. You could work on a variety of projects, including airports, railway stations, nuclear power stations or offshore wind farms. From design to analysis, manufacturing and maintenance challenges, your contribution will make a difference. You'll be able to point to your projects and say, "I helped make that happen."

Where you could work

As a placement student, you could find yourself in one of the following business areas:

• Degree requirements: On track to achieve a minimum of a 2.2 Master’s/MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine/Naval Engineering, Integrated Mechanical & Electrical Engineering

 ADS&T is the team that works across mission-critical industries to exploit cutting-edge advanced technology across aerospace and defence markets, helping clients respond innovatively to evolving external environments.  We're maintaining our Defence sector's resilience, transforming aerospace, and keeping transport systems running safely. This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Kent. We’re a leading international integrated energy services company, launched in August 2021, when Kentech acquired ATKINS SNC-Lavalin’s Oil and Gas Business.

Your role

Join us as a Mechanical Engineering placement student and enjoy exposure to a wide variety of industries, clients and projects. As one of the team, you'll own your projects, designing, integrating, and managing complex design solutions over their lifecycles. Your work could involve the latest electric aircraft engines, defence communication systems, submarine powerplants, nuclear facilities, satellite structures or flying taxis. Whatever your passion, you will be joining a high-end engineering team working on groundbreaking projects. And while you're shaping a safer, happier, more sustainable world, we’ll support you in your development.

You'll have the opportunity to develop skills within various engineering capabilities, including classical and finite element stress analysis of composite and metallic components, systems engineering, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis through to composite and metallic design.
