As an Arla Laboratory Technician at our Aylesbury Dairy, you will analyse and evaluate products and materials to ensure that quality and approved analysis standards are met.

    Working a 12 hour day shift pattern, you will monitor the Laboratory quality system compliance and effectiveness through planned audits and independent process control checks to ensure that our products comply with food safety legislation, meet the technical and quality specification and are manufactured at best cost.

    So what do our laboratory technicians actually do

    As a Laboratory Technician you will be sampling raw materials, manufacturing process and finished goods in terms of chemical and microbiological analysis

    You will be conduct micro analysis of samples as per specified methods, carry out product sensory panels to meet requirements and ensure that all quality and food safety checks are carried out satisfactorily.

    You will be responsible to inform Technical Team of results outside specification for instigation of corrective actions and will be responsible for control of the Non-conformance data base

    What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

    • Practical experience of Good Laboratory Practices
    • Microbiology testing experience is preferred but not essential
    • Experience in similar role in a manufacturing environment working within QA / Sensory
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • PC literate with the ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data
    • Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
    • Excellent attention to detail
