Job purpose

To support the Sales and Marketing functions in:

  • Achieving the target volume of quotes and contracts.
  • Leveraging the leads generated by marketing activities and converting them to formal quote requests.
  • Providing useful insights and feedback, based on feedback from leads, upon which decisions can be made about future initiatives.

Accountabilities

Developing

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to convert leads into sales opportunities.
  • Actively engage with leads generated through various marketing channels (e.g. phone calls, emails, SMS, social media) to understand their needs and offer potential solutions to help build relationships, with a view to converting as many as possible into actionable opportunities for the Sales Team(s).

Communicating

  • Engaging with teams across the business (primarily sales and marketing) to gather information and share insights.
  • Ensuring leads are properly informed about the USPs of the relevant product(s) and how the brand/product can support them in achieving their objectives.

Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor a variety of inbound channels to identify opportunities to convert prospect engagements into opportunities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of activities, channels and messaging to optimise and automate follow-ups.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify new approaches to lead nurturing/handling.

Collaborating

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to refine lead generation processes and improve the quality of leads.
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams to improve lead generation approaches through a measurable test-and-learn approach.

Success criteria

  • Supporting the Sales function in achieving its required volumes of quotes and value of contracts.
  • Improving the conversion rate of leads to opportunities (quote requests).
  • Building a strong pipeline of opportunities for the future.

Context

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will play an important role in driving our company’s growth by using effective communication and sales strategies to turn leads into valuable sales opportunities. The BDE will be at the forefront of our sales initiatives, working closely with the marketing team to identify potential clients, engage with leads, and convert them into lasting relationships.

Required skills and experience

  • We are looking for a hungry, energetic BDR who are at the start of their career in sales but have a drive to succeed and progress within a business.
  • Be focused on success & be target driven.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ideally have experience with using Hubspot, this is not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated with a results-driven approach.

Candidates with any/all of the following skills and experience will have an advantage

  • Experience with using Hubspot.
  • Experience with high-consideration products.
