Job Description

Alexander McQueen are currently seeking an Assistant Designer on Men’s Knitwear who will report to the Senior Men’s Knitwear Designer based in our central London HQ.

Your Opportunity

Alexander McQueen are actively seeking an Assistant Knitwear Designer to support the Men’s Knitwear category. The role requires effective collaboration with all team members, a high level of attention to detail and confidence working in a fast-paced and pressurised environment.

As Assistant Designer your role is to provide support to the Senior Men’s Knitwear Designer and Director of Menswear on the Men’s RTW collections.

How you will contribute

  • Follow the pre and main collections, from design through to development
  • Image research
  • Produce sketches and technical drawings on Illustrator and Photoshop for Design reviews
  • Prepare technical packs
  • Making swatches/ mock-ups/ trials
  • Participate in fittings
  • Clear and effective communication with product development team
  • Artwork renderings and placements using CAD
  • Prepare FTS sheets and update range plan
  • Photographing and organising prototypes and samples
  • Maintaining and updating archives

Who you are

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Very good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Alexander McQueen design aesthetic
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Adaptable, fast and proactive, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests, while working under pressure
  • Good attitude and flexible approach
  • Enthusiastic and passionate
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
