The Adam Smith Institute offers short, two-week unpaid internships to university students and recent graduates who are interested in politics, economics and policy work. These are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the policy making process and the wider free-market movement in the UK. It is not important that prospective interns are committed to all the political views that the ASI itself holds, but it is extremely important that applicants are interested in and curious about the areas we work and research in.
Our internships are an excellent first step into the world of policy and politics, and many former interns have gone on to work in these areas, or for the ASI itself. They also provide very good experience for a range of non-policy-based careers. Please note that our internship programme is highly competitive.
Availability
Prospective interns should be available for a two-week period from March 2021 to September 2021. Please specify available dates in your application.
Roles
Interns will engage in both research and operations capacities, working on research papers and blogging whenever they are not working on ASI research or operations. Interns are expected to carry out office administration duties as required.
Work Experience
Dependent on space and the time of year, the Adam Smith Institute can occasionally offer work experience to those yet to attend university. To apply, please follow the requirements, signalling that it is work experience you seek.
