Job Summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Supervisor (Intern) to gain hands-on experience working on a Waste to Energy construction project in London. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to start their career in mechanical supervision. The selected candidate will assist the senior mechanical team in managing the mechanical installations on-site, learning how to ensure that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supervising mechanical activities on-site, including the installation, maintenance, and inspection of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Support the senior team in ensuring that all mechanical work complies with project design, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments (electrical, civil, etc.) to facilitate the smooth progress of mechanical works.
  • Help monitor the performance of mechanical subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety and contractual standards.
  • Participate in inspections of mechanical systems and equipment to identify any potential issues and assist in preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in scheduling and planning mechanical work to meet project deadlines.
  • Support the implementation of safety regulations and ensure team members follow safety procedures.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and assist with reporting on mechanical work progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of mechanical activities, inspections, and equipment maintenance.

About You

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate or final-year student in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in mechanical supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and an understanding of engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation (training will be provided).
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction or mechanical supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or previous experience in a construction or mechanical environment (advantageous but not required).
  • Understanding of health and safety practices in construction.
