Z's success story: Securing a Paid Social Assistant role at Dentsu Media

Z is a Marketing graduate from Middlesex University. She secured a Paid Social Assistant role at Dentsu Media in London through Bright Network. 

First, we’d love for you to tell us a bit about yourself. 

“From a young age I’ve always enjoyed being creative and the world of business has always intrigued me. After studying business and IT at A-Level and finding my passion in marketing strategy from both subjects, it felt natural to then pursue a degree in marketing.  

I’m a firm believer that any business, no matter the industry, requires marketing in order to see success. My degree has allowed me to explore various aspects of marketing and moving forwards I’m excited to apply my knowledge, share my ideas and make an impact through representing big brands.”  

What motivated you to apply for your role?  

“Throughout my degree, I became more drawn to working within an agency as I enjoy the idea of working on multiple projects, working with multiple clients, and gaining a broader knowledge within various industries.”  

What was the application process like?  

“I particularly like that Dentsu offered a tailored report based on answers that I provided within the online assessment, which included feedback about the way I work and how I can play to my strengths as well as identify potential weaknesses.”  

How did Bright Network secure your role?  

“I found the job listing on Bright Network’s website!  

I had previously attended the Women in Leadership event, which was packed with tonnes of valuable advice for inspiring women.”  

What are you most proud of about your journey?  

“I’m most proud of my resilience to complete my degree despite the various challenges life has thrown at me throughout my studies. After achieving a first-class honours, I’m now about to start my career in marketing which is incredibly exciting.”  

What have you learned from going through the process?  

“The process to find the right job may take longer than anticipated, however it will always be worth it to find a role and company that is perfect for you.”  

What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?  

“I’d recommend just taking the chance and applying! You truly never know what you are capable of and what potential an employer may see in you, even if you do not see it in yourself. 

As long as you have the drive, the passion, and the willingness to learn, you can achieve wonderful things.”  

Tell us about the future. What’s next?  

“I hope to continue learning about the ever-evolving landscape of marketing, as well as continue to learn more about myself and where my strengths lie, and how I can best make an impact.”
