Tom is an Economics graduate from the University of Nottingham. He secured a Audit graduate role at Evelyn Partners in London, through Bright Network. 
What motivated you to apply for your role?
“I was motivated to apply for a role at Evelyn Partners because it had a very appealing culture, one where everyone helps each other.”
How did you prepare for your interview?
“I researched the company thoroughly as I wanted to be comfortable and confident talking to the interviewers.
I was most nervous for the interview, as I knew it was important to impress them.”

What are you most proud of about your journey?
“After unsuccessfully securing an internship last year, I felt slightly disillusioned, so I’m proud of myself for being resilient and fully dedicating myself to the graduate application process.”
What have you learned from going through the process?
“I learnt that being optimistic is very helpful as it’ll make you feel more confident throughout the process and you’ll act more like yourself – I wish I knew this sooner!”
What are your tips for someone looking to follow in your footsteps?
“Create a job application spreadsheet to help you keep track of what you need to do for each application.
Write notes on each job you apply for, as there’s likely to be crossover between them. These notes and insights can then be used for other interviews.”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“I’m looking forward to progressing and learning more in my new role. It will be a real chance for me to apply my all and be the best I can be. I’ll be learning from colleagues and I also look forward to starting formal training.”
