First, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I was very lucky to be able to study a subject I was really interested in, and I feel really lucky to have now been able to turn that into a career, I’m really excited to pursue.
I’m still not sure exactly what I specifically want to do, so consulting is a great way for me to gain hands-on experience in a diverse sector that should suit my varied interests and skills!”
What motivated you to apply for the role?
“I made so many applications, but this company had a really unique vibe and culture that I found really attractive. Their high-profile projects and varied focuses attracted me too.”
What was the application process like?
“I was nervous, but their culture made a huge difference to the process, as they made me feel much more at ease.
I spent a very long time reading up on the current economic and business climate, as well as looking at specific consulting preparation sites.”
What are you most proud of about your journey?
“My degree doesn’t feed that naturally into consulting, so I found it hard getting through screening stages. I’m most proud of getting a job and persevering through the difficult application processes.”
What have you learned from going through the process?
“The process was shorter than I was expecting, but definitely still tiring and time consuming.
It’s been good to have some exposure to rejections and helped me to develop my resilience.”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“My advice would be to only apply for jobs that you’d actually want to do. The demoralisation of tonnes of rejections, isn’t worth the time for half-hearted applications.”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“I’m excited to get stuck in, learn new skills and see where it takes me!”
