What was your application journey like?
“Everything was a learning curve for me.”
“I consolidated all my past experiences of job seeking and consulted career guides and interview guides on YouTube to better hone my interviewing skills.”
“I reflected on my past failures in other application processes, zoomed in on exercises I felt went poorly and then practised them at home with online training tools.”
What motivated you to apply for your role?
“An academic whom I admire encouraged me to break the mould and lean in on my latent commercial talents to make money and protect my future career.”
What have you learned from going through the process?
“That even if you’re faced with adversity that you mustn’t lose hope!
As long as you’re learning from your mistakes and honing your skills then you’re doing well.”
What are you most proud of about your journey?
“In a rather unprecedented stage of my life, I took an education in Theology and pivoted away from the academic life to a career in professional services!
It’s not often a career trajectory steers this way, but it does happen occasionally.”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“Take the time to practice and develop responses to interview questions.
Before answering an assessment question, come prepared and knowledgeable about the time limit and number of questions and style of questions that will appear.”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“The future is everything and anything!”
“Long term, I may not stay in professional services and may instead return to my studies.”
“Alternatively, I may continue into management or pivot to another industry or another sector all together.”
