Dulmi is an Economics graduate from the University of Bath. She secured a graduate role as an Operations Executive at Publicis Media through Bright Network. 
First, we’d love for you to tell us a little bit about yourself?
“I studied Economics at university as I had an interest in the subject after studying it at A-Level. I am interested in how businesses work and also how consumers and firms interact in the market.
Economics is relevant in many scenarios, and I thought a degree in this would provide me with lots of useful skills.”
What motivated you to apply for your role?
“I applied to Publicis Groupe as I’m interested in the media and marketing industry and I felt like an Operations role would utilise my analytical thinking I developed during my Economics degree.
The opportunity was also very similar to my placement year which I enjoyed a lot.”
What are you most proud of about your journey?
“I’m proud of doing well in my first corporate in-person interview as previously I had only done online ones.”
What was the application process like?
“For this application, I sent in my online application initially with my CV and answered a few questions. Then I had some online tasks to complete.
This included a patterns/game assessment and an attention-to-detail task. Then following a phone call, I had my in-person interview in the office.”
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?
“I attended a networking event once to get to know different industries (Women in TEC event) which helped me feel more confident talking to employers. I also saw this job advertised on the Bright Network website.”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“My top tip is to utilise LinkedIn and connect with people in the business, particularly those that will be interviewing you. This way, in the interview you can really show that you’re passionate about the company, brand and people.”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“I’m excited to begin my graduate job and get involved with working with such cool brands. It will be nice to get to be a part of interesting projects and develop my skills.”
