First, in sentences please tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I have always had a passion for numbers and solving complex challenges, which naturally aligns with my positive mindset and belief that every problem has a workable solution. Growing up, I admired the professionalism of bankers and dreamed of becoming one, inspired by their sharp looks and structured roles.
My decision to go to university stemmed from my desire for continuous personal and professional growth. While managing my mum’s store and handling its finances, I discovered my love for accounting and realised I wanted to pursue it as a professional career. This hands-on experience ignited my passion for helping businesses thrive through financial insight and strategic decision making.”
What motivated you to apply for your role?
“I was motivated to apply for my role at Deloitte because of its reputation as a leading global firm known for innovation, professionalism, and a strong focus on developing its people.
The opportunity to work in the Audit business area was particularly appealing because it combines my passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and working collaboratively to add value to clients.
Deloitte’s emphasis on fostering growth and providing a clear career progression path aligned perfectly with my ambition to continuously develop myself. Additionally, their focus on using technology to transform business practices excited me, as I wanted to be part of a forward thinking organisation where I could make a real impact.”
What was the application process like?
“The application process for the full-time graduate role in Audit at Deloitte was thorough and demanding, as expected for a Big 4 firm. It involved multiple stages, starting with the online application, followed by psychometric assessments, a job simulation and eventually an assessment centre with interviews and presentations. Each stage tested not only my technical abilities but also my problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
What stood out to me was how well structured the process was. Deloitte’s emphasis on aligning candidates with their values and culture was evident throughout. It wasn’t just about technical expertise; they wanted to see how I could contribute to their collaborative and innovative environment.
It was a rewarding experience which challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, improve my skills and ultimately prove to myself that I was ready for this role."

What are you most proud of about your journey?
“What I’m most proud of is my resilience and ability to keep pushing forward despite setbacks. There were moments when the constant rejections and ‘unfortunately’ emails made me question whether I was good enough, but I never gave up. Instead, I chose to learn from every experience, refine my approach and keep striving. Securing my role at Deloitte wasn’t just a career milestone: it was proof of my determination and belief in myself.
The experience has taught me that success isn’t about avoiding challenges but about embracing them, learning from them, and using them as stepping stones to reach your goals.”
What was your application journey like?
“My application journey to Deloitte was challenging but incredibly rewarding. I prepared by researching the company thoroughly, practicing psychometric tests and reviewing potential interview questions. I also leveraged resources from Bright Network and my university’s career services to refine my approach and gain confidence in tackling each stage of the process.
The stage I was most nervous about was the assessment center, particularly the presentation to senior leaders. It felt daunting to communicate my ideas effectively under pressure, but I overcame this by practicing extensively and seeking feedback from peers and mentors.
One piece of helpful feedback I received was to focus on demonstrating not just my technical knowledge but also my ability to work collaboratively and align with Deloitte’s values. This advice helped me approach the process with a well-rounded mindset and ultimately succeed in securing the role.”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
"My tips for people looking to follow in my footsteps would be firstly to stay resistent. Rejection is part of the journey and each 'no' is a learning opportunity, so don't let it discourage you. Reflect on your feedback, refine your approach and keep applying.
Secondly, tailor your applications. Take the time to research the company and role and customise your CV and responses to highlight why you're a perfect fit for their specific needs.
Thirdly, practice for assessments. Psychometric tests and job simulations can be tricky, so use practice platforms like Bright Network or others to familiarise yourself with the format and improve your performance.
And finally, prioritise networking and don't be afraid to ask for help. Connect with people in your desired field and don't hesitate to seek advice. Bright Network, LinkedIn and university career services are excellent places to start."

“I’m looking forward to starting my career at Deloitte and immersing myself in the dynamic and challenging world of Audit. I’m most excited about gaining experience working with diverse clients and industries, as well as contributing to meaningful projects that drive business improvement.
I hope to continuously learn and develop by building my technical expertise, enhancing my problem-solving skills, and growing as a professional through mentorship and collaboration with talented colleagues.
