Daniel’s insight into securing a graduate role with PA Consulting

Created on 15 Dec 2021

We recently caught up with Daniel about how they secured a graduate role with PA Consulting and their top tips for Bright Network members looking to follow in their footsteps.

What stood out to you about PA Consulting?

The work I’m most interested in was something PA had to offer. The ability to work with certain clients, both in the public and private sector and being able to help both areas really interested me. I also luckily got to gain some experience in the field two years before applying, so that really helped develop that interest and solidify that I wanted to move into this career.

What would be your top tip to members following in your footsteps?

I’d say to understand what makes PA different, as they’re a lot of things many consultancy firms do. But you need to really delve into why PA stands out to you. For me, it was their value of their people, they care about the advice they give and want to build meaningful long-lasting relationships with clients. No matter the scale of the job, still wanting to provide the complete experience for that client. So definitely do your homework on the firm before applying.

How did Bright Network help you secure your role?

I found Bright Network useful primarily as a search tool. Being able to look across many job roles, information around the businesses and context of what each firm is about. I found the advice articles really helpful. Being able to understand how to conduct yourself in an interview, how to answer questions effectively, application planning and more. It was great to have support resources at every stage.
