Hazel, a Liverpool graduate from Coventry, was hired by Limitless at one of Bright Network High Growth’s demo days. We visited Hazel at the Limitless head office in Waterloo to wish her congratulations and to capture her thoughts on the application process.
What’s the work been like so far?
I’m the community success lead who is responsible for our client Microsoft. It is my job to ensure that Microsoft is happy with the work that their ambassadors are doing. Therefore, I have a weekly meeting with them to get their feedback as well as to be given any new knowledges that our ambassadors need to be aware of. I then manage our ambassadors, their workloads and give them individual feedback to keep their work at a high standard whilst also updating them with the feedback and new knowledges Microsoft has given me.
It’s a role in which I’ve been given a lot of autonomy as well as being surrounded by an incredibly supportive team. I love the office culture.
How was the demo day?
Straightforward, enjoyable and well structured. I was unsure about moving from Coventry to London, but the demo day showed me that working in London doesn’t have to be all suits and ties and that job hunting doesn’t have to be a real pain either. The reverse careers fair was particularly fun, I brought my own snacks to entice employers as well as some newspaper clippings of a play I had been in where the plot revolved around a Kenyan woman migrating to the UK.
Hazel’s 3 top tips:
- Be open minded when you speak to different employers
- Confidence is key, be confident and remain so throughout the day regardless of what’s happening.
- If you don’t get a job the first time round then take on feedback and be determined to come back, one girl went from getting 0 interviews on her first demo day to getting 3 on her second!
What have been a couple of your favourite moments at Limitless so far?
I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the Microsoft expansion. They’ve gone from giving us 3000 cases to 10,000 cases and seeing that happen has been massively rewarding. As a result, I onboarded 30 new ambassadors which was a pleasure too.
My favourite time has to be our summer nights day out where we finished work early to go and play rounders in the sun followed by pizza, drinks and karaoke, the perfect day!
