    Role overview

    The Programme Marketing Assistant role is integral to supporting our programme team marketing activities by enhancing member communications and improving marketing data quality. The Programme Marketing Assistant owns all marketing activities for the programme areas they support. They focus on improving the effectiveness of their programme areas’ communications and marketing activities. They report into the head of data-driven marketing.

    About the role

    This role will be supporting our growing policy and tech and innovation programme areas. Focusing on how we ensure the policy landscape is right for tech to thrive and supports growth in the UK as well as ensuring that our country seizes the opportunity of AI and emerging tech such as Robotics and Quantum, this individual will be responsible for ensuring our key messages around policy and tech and innovation are delivered to members, prospects and stakeholders. Supported by the wider marketing team, the programme areas they will support as marketing assistant include:

    Key responsibilities

    Ensuring programme activities are shared on the appropriate channels and deliver appropriate results. Reaching intended existing and new audiences.

    • Events: Reach Target Audiences: Provide marketing support for in person and online events. Monitor event sign-ups and suggest how to promote it. Help with social media promotion (design brief requests and approvals)
    • Newsletters & Mailers: Coordinate programme newsletters and mailers, scheduling and drafting the mailers to then be edited afterwards. Making requests for mailing lists
    • Social Media: Provide support for Programme teams on social media posting and engagement, includes replying to comments and sharing with other stakeholders and members for engagement
    • Campaign Weeks and Campaigns: Coordinate the week with member content, create the landing page and campaign week widgets, promote the week/campaign as require via marketing channels
    • Website: Posting Blogs, Partner Events and Hub Management: Support on creation and maintenance programme webpages (hubs and campaign pages), uploading of blogs (including guest blogs from members) and partner events – monitor performance and improve content. Create and manage marketing widgets and make decisions re: calls to action.
    • Member Elections and Survey Management: Identify the best way to promote elections and surveys to improve interest. Manage the responses and full process to publishing of the results
    • Design Brief and Programme Visuals: Pick images for marketing and submit design brief requests
    • Point of Contact: Offer a point of contact for member queries on marketing activities
    • Data Management: Ensure the CRM system is continuously updated through inputting and extracting data for member contacts, engagement, and prospecting.
    • Presentation Updates: Support on presentation development
    • Training Colleagues: Training programme team colleagues on what they do (new starters)

    Essential knowledge and experience

    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
    • Competence in using MS Office Suite and digital marketing tools.

    Desired knowledge and experience

    • Experience in CRM systems and data management, and segmenting audiences.
    • Experience using web CMS and social media scheduling platforms.
    • Experience working with design teams on assets and content.
    • Experience in supporting marketing or communications teams.
    • Experience in executing email marketing campaigns.
    • Experience in executing organic social media campaigns.
    • Experience in a membership-based organisation or similar environment.
    • Previous experience in reporting and analysis of marcomms activities performance to drive improvements.

    Additional information

    This is a full time role based out of techUK’s London offices, however techUK operates a flexible working policy.

    This role profile is a guide to the work that is required but does not form part of any contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.

    The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK prior to the commencement of employment.

    The salary range for this role is £25,000-£31,000 per annum based upon experience plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
