With 18 sites across the country, we’re one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers, providing top-quality food and the freshest produce to our customers. You’ll work alongside skilled colleagues, training to become a buyer in our Meat, Fish or Fruit and Veg sites, gaining hands-on experience and understanding the end-to-end buying process of sourcing, sales and planning, commercial finance and new product development!

What’s involved?

Throughout the 2-year scheme, you’ll experience different buying teams across either our Meat (based in Colne) or Fruit and Veg (based in Hilmore House Bradford) manufacturing sites, helping us drive efficiencies and commercial profitability in a fast-paced environment. Your time will initially be spent gaining an appreciation of our operational manufacturing business, followed by a short placement in our stores to learn more about our retail operation. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for:

  • Sourcing raw products to ensure we’re getting the best quality products for the best prices
  • Interacting with our farmers and growers and planning with our sites to deliver great quality food to our stores and external customers

Our structured training and the chance to work on exciting projects means there are plenty of opportunities to progress and learn while with us. You’ll join other Buying Graduates in training and development sessions, such as negotiation training. By the end of the programme, you will have the experience and skills needed to progress into the role of a buyer in either Meat or Fruit and Veg.

Make good things happen

Our graduates get access to all our employee benefits, including a holiday buying scheme, contributory pension scheme, store discounts and MyPerks. This is a reward and benefits scheme that updates regularly with new and exciting offers. Here’s what could be available:

  • 24% cashback on JustEat
  • 6% cashback on Ticketmaster
  • Cinema tickets from £4.80
