We’re recruiting for interns to join our Cost Engineering department within our Finance team at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. As a Cost Engineer intern, you will develop your knowledge and skills manufacturing processes, cost estimation, cost optimisation, supplier sourcing strategy, and negotiation, as well as other skills used within the cost engineering function.
Please note this position is on-site 5 days a week at the McLaren Technology Centre, to best facilitate your learning and development during the scheme.
The closing date for applications is Friday, 15th November 2024.
Virtual first stage interviews will take place in early January 2025, with the second stage of the process being on-site assessment centres in late January/early February.
What You'll Do
You will work within our Cost Engineering department in our Finance business area on a one-year programme. Examples of responsibilities undertaken by this department include, but are not limited to:
- Review Supplier Quotation (QAF) and understand Cost Structure of a component.
- Develop your Process Manufacturing knowledge through research and supplier visit.
- Develop Cost Engineering Estimate of a given component.
- Support Cross Functional Team with Supplier Negotiations.
- Support VAVE and Cost reduction initiatives by providing process and cost information.
What You'll Bring
You must be studying a relevant finance/economics/engineering based degree.
You must also bring a passion for cars, and a desire to work at the cutting edge of the automotive industry within our Finance department.
