About the Bright Network - EY Empower Programme

EY Empower is a new initiative developed in partnership with Bright Network, specifically designed to support those who come from traditionally under-represented groups in the industry.

If accepted on to the programme, you will be offered in-depth coaching and support throughout the rest of the EY recruitment process, to help you realise your full potential.

This will be provided across a variety of formats, including group and 1-2-1 coaching sessions, and sign-posting to relevant upskilling tools and material.

    EY Empower: Actuarial Graduate Programme

    About the programme

We’re more than your average actuarial consultancy. As well as delivering for our clients in the traditional actuarial areas, such as reserving, pricing and capital modelling, we operate as part of the wider EY Consulting business. This gives our team the opportunity to work on wider projects including underwriting and finance transformation, implementation of technology, sustainability, strategy, risk management, analytics and capital optimisation. So, no matter where you want to take your career, you’ll have plenty of room to explore your options with us.

Did you know? We won the award for The Times ‘Graduate Employer of Choice’ in 2021 for our Actuarial work.

    What will you be doing?

    • Analysing data to identify trends and insights, communicating with clients, writing reports and presenting your work.
    • Developing dashboards, producing visualisations and performing analytics to support client needs.
    • Contributing to actuarial audits, mergers and acquisitions, actuarial modelling and more.
    • Communicating with people in our UK offices and across EMEIA.

    How is it structured?

We'll provide you with the support you need to understand how to analyse client data, spot trends and provide clients with insights. You'll build skills in writing up findings into reports and create client presentations that set out our findings and insights.

By your second year, you'll be responsible for supporting our new graduates and reviewing their work. You'll take on a bigger role on projects, building strong relationships with your clients. You may also work on projects in other actuarial areas (non-life insurance and pensions) too.

Throughout the programme, you’ll study for actuarial professional exams (supported by a generous allowance) and have many opportunities to join training events and conferences. By the time the graduate programme is over, you’ll have a firm understanding of how to use analysis and modelling techniques to understand our clients’ businesses and the issues affecting them. Best of all, you’ll be well on your way to a qualification and gaining the knowledge and experience needed to win business for EY, lead projects and progress to more senior positions.

Alongside our programme offering, we give you all the training and exposure to real-world work you could want. We also offer company-wide and programme-specific rewards that make all the hard work worthwhile. These include wellbeing initiatives, a free tech MBA, healthcare support, a pension scheme and more.

    What programmes can you join?

    • Actuarial Pensions and Investments

Enjoy the opportunity to think big while your team and our leaders support you to grow and deliver at your best.
