Job description
The Enterprise Data group is focused on building a robust data platform which services a diverse set of investment teams and internal clients. The group consists of data sourcing experts, data product specialists, data engineers, and software engineers who are responsible for the discovery, management, curation, and distribution of thousands of alpha sources for the firm and our investment professionals. The Enterprise Data group is seeking an experienced backend software engineer to join the Data Products team. The Products team’s mission is to build a next generation data offering for ExodusPoint’s diverse investment teams, varying across asset classes and strategies.
The ideal candidate is an engineer with a strong foundation in software design and engineering, and a desire to grow and develop their skills in enterprise software. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and an institutional effort to build a wide variety of product offerings, which will further propagate internal client interactions with the Enterprise Data Team’s offerings. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing product capabilities in a highly available environment, creating monitoring and support tools, defining success KPIs and constantly evaluating the success of the product.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to build portfolio of products for data discovery, distribution, and intelligence.
- Design and develop stateless RESTful APIs for web apps and data services with Python.
- Design and develop single-page applications using TypeScript and React.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data loading pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.
- Ensure all applications and systems are continuously monitored and highly available.
- Collaborate with external teams to integrate internal and external services with Data Products APIs.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python.
- Proficiency in TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React.
- Experience with relational databases, ideally Postgres and Snowflake.
- Experience with building and/or refactoring complex systems.
- Experience with service health monitoring, alerting, and observability.
Desired experience
- Experience with large scale distributed systems.
- Experience with FastAPI, Celery, Pytest, Postgres, Snowflake, GraphQL, OpenSearch, Redis, and GenAI services.
