Intern Tennis Clients
IMG Tennis, a division of WME, has a long history of managing many of the world’s most successful and iconic tennis players. We offer a full service to clients including sponsorship negotiation and management, PR and social media support, travel and logistics, and on-court performance management.
The Tennis Clients Summer Interns will be supporting the UK team, based in London and Wimbledon in the months of July and August. With Wimbledon taking place during the period, this internship fives a great insight into the behind the scenes of what goes into managing elite tennis players during the most important time of the tennis calendar.
Responsibilities
The main event the Tennis Clients Summer Interns will attend is Wimbledon, followed by a summer of preparation for the US hard court swing. The intern role across the summer of tennis will be extremely varied, ranging from:
- Administrative tasks - Creating client presentations, compiling target lists of brands for new sponsorship approaches, booking client transportation and hotels.
- Operational tasks – Assisting the team with a wide range of operational activities integral to player needs on the WTA/ATP Tours; coordination of mailing products to clients, delivering ticket drop-offs, making visa applications,
- Client facing tasks –An integral part of the team running the Hospitality Programme for clients and executives attending the IMG House during Wimbledon. Assist the Events staff with welcoming guests for meetings, minute taking in select meetings, work with brands attending the IMG Wimbledon Gifting Suite to set up and manage their inventory.
Qualifications
- Educated to A-level or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable with multitasking effectively
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, to foresee and meet deadlines
- Interpersonal skills and a strong team player with the ability to confidently deal with clients of all levels, and the ability to modify approach and tone appropriately
- Strong understanding and interesting in tennis or sports preferred
Program details
We offer internship opportunities within our global sports and entertainment businesses, including global cultural marketing agency 160/90; sports rights management, production, and digital content leader IMG (Rights, FC Diez, Seven League); global licensing business IMG Licensing; premium hospitality and live experiences leader On Location, Professional Bull Riders (PBR), and entertainment agency WME (including WME Sports and Fashion). Locations include New York City, Nashville, St. Louis, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, London, and Paris. All internships are in the office and in-person, unless otherwise noted.
In addition to hands-on experience and exposure to the global sports and entertainment industry, interns participate in events such as welcome/farewell sessions, a speaker series featuring company leaders, and career training workshops addressing everything from LinkedIn profile enhancement to resume building, interviewing skills, and networking.
Internships are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, or standard local working hours in the intern location.
