At Clyde & Co, we strongly believe the legal sector should be accessible for all and should have as few barriers as possible. That’s why we’re delighted to announce that this year we’ll once again be running our Bright Futures programme - in collaboration with Bright Network.

Our weeklong Bright Futures programme is aimed at people from lower socioeconomic status groups who have not yet had an opportunity to gain commercial work experience. The purpose of this programme is to develop soft skills and prepare students for the world of work. They also have the opportunity to secure an offer on one of our vacation schemes the following year.

Your Introduction to Law

This is an opportunity to spend a week in one of our world-renowned departments and to shadow one of our experienced lawyers. You’ll be able to get experience one of our complex legal transactions, develop an understanding of our core industry sectors and learn how we help our clients to achieve their commercial objectives.

What to Expect

Here’s a rough breakdown of what you can expect to encounter during your time on the Bright Futures programme:

Days one and two: an opportunity to learn about the wider business, how Clyde & Co generates money, sectors that Clyde & Co operate within and lastly, the culture that you can expect to become part of as a first-year trainee. There will also be group projects and social events to welcome students and get to know each other.

Day three: an opportunity for you to dive deep into your strengths with a Learning and Development professional and understand how to maximise these.

Day four: as mentioned previously, the penultimate day of the Bright Futures programme will be a bootcamp specifically designed to provide you with knowledge of the assessments that you will experience the following day. This has been designed to provide an equity of understanding and set you up for success.

Day five: The Assessment Centre. This will consist of various tasks such as group exercises, one-to-one interviews and a role play exercise. By the end of day four you’ll be prepared and best equipped to nail the assessment centre so please don’t worry about this stage too much. We want to set you up for success with the aim that you secure an offer for one of our Vacation Schemes the following year.
