The Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) represents a broad array of European and global participants in the wholesale financial markets. Its members comprise pan-EU and global banks as well as key regional banks, brokers, law firms, investors and other financial market participants. We advocate stable, competitive, sustainable European financial markets that support economic growth and benefit society.
AFME is the European member of the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA), a global alliance with the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) in the US, and the Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA) in Asia.
Securitisation is a key pillar of the EU’s Savings and Investments Union, and it has been receiving increasing high-level political support. It is also a top priority in the UK’s reform agenda.
On behalf of AFME’s members, the Securitisation Division analyses, communicates and responds to proposed regulations affecting securitisation. The Division has regular, frequent and constructive dialogue with policymakers, legislators, regulators, central banks and other interlocutors across the EU and UK in Brussels, London and other key capitals, as well as with global bodies, such as the Financial Stability Board.
Its day-to-day work is implemented through theme-based working groups focusing, for example, on EU Level 2 matters, green securitisation, disclosures and prudential matters. The Securitisation Division is governed by the Securitisation Board, whose members comprise senior front-office bankers (originators and underwriters), issuers, investors, law firms and others responsible for securitisation businesses at member firms.
We are seeking a Graduate to support all workstreams of the Securitisation Division within Capital Markets, with a focus on supporting AFME’s ongoing work on shaping policy and proposing structural change which can lead to the revival of the European securitisation markets.
