Marks & Spencer
This is the new generation of retail.
From making fashion more sustainable to revolutionising the digital experience and innovating high-quality foods, we’re transforming retail at M&S. It takes vision, leadership, resilience and expert technical skills to be at the forefront of our industry. We’re bold with our decisions and ambitious for growth, which are all things you’ll learn on our new graduate programmes, school leaver programmes and industrial placements.
We’ve worked hard to design the most innovative, explorative programmes that feed your ambition and curiosity. They’re created for the commercial, creative and digital thinkers of tomorrow. We tell it as it is and learn from others to get better every day, and we’re proud to be going through a digital, data driven transformation that will change the future of retail.
Join us, and you’ll be part of a diverse community of inspired graduates and interns in getting close to customers and colleagues to drive the success of M&S. You’ll meet like-minded individuals with a shared desire to make ideas happen and reinvent an industry. With a hands-on approach, work on real-life, high-profile projects, and learn advanced skills through structured mentoring to guide you towards reaching your ambition.
This is your chance to rewrite the future of retail.
Recruitment Process
Our applications open in the autumn. Closing dates vary depending on the programme, and we sometimes close programmes sooner depending on application numbers. That’s why we recommend applying early.
The application process might include:
- A 45-minute online assessment:
You will be presented with a range of hypothetical scenarios you may experience at M&S. Whilst they are not timed, we suggest putting aside 45-60 minutes.
- A video interview.
- Attending an in-person assessment centre with peers at the location of the job role you have applied for.
We’re committed to supporting anyone who needs reasonable adjustments to be made to their application process. We’ll give you the opportunity to highlight these at the start of the application process. Most of our assessment are untimed and we’ll make you aware of any timed elements in advance.
Culture and Values
We all share the same goal of transforming retail forever. We’re ambitious, honest, and informal—no dramas, just straight talking. But it’s our differences, and our individualities that inspire us to get there. Here, we welcome people from all backgrounds, abilities, genders and orientations to join us.
Diversity
We believe in disrupting and innovating, and we know that when people can bring their whole selves to work, they can bring their best selves to work. Our culture is made by the people in it, and the more open we are to different people, experiences and perspectives, the more enriching and powerful we become. We’re proud to welcome people from all backgrounds and communities to join us.
We’ve also introduced an inclusion training programme for all our colleagues, along with internal inclusivity networks to help colleagues to form allies and have their voice heard.
Sustainability
As the sustainability challenges we face become more urgent, we’re putting all of our energy into becoming a net zero business. We’ve set big targets, transforming ten key areas, including the reduction of waste and emissions, sourcing more sustainable raw materials, trading ethically, and helping our customers lead healthier lifestyles.
This is where your future starts.
