First Year Insight opportunities

Our paid, four-day Insight programmes are open to first- or second-year university students who graduate in 2027, who want to get a greater understanding of the finance industry, learn more about our opportunities and experience our company culture before applying to our internships. These opportunities can be found in Birmingham, Sheffield and London and will run in April 2025. They are also an opportunity to gain fast-track to the summer internship roles in 2026.

Internship opportunities

Our Internships are the main pathway into our Global Graduate Programmes. They are for students in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and run for 10 weeks. We have Internship opportunities in our three Global Businesses; Commercial Banking, Global Banking & Markets, Wealth and Personal Banking and in our Digital Business Services Team. The internships take place between June and August 2025 and they are an opportunity to gain fast-track to Graduate Programmes in 2026.

Global Graduate Programmes

Across the globe we have a number of exciting Internships and Graduate Programmes. We actively seek people with degrees in all disciplines. After all, diversity – of background, experience and knowledge – helps HSBC better serve our customers. Our Global Internships and Graduate Programmes will help you develop the skills you need to make a real, positive impact within HSBC and beyond. Graduate Programmes commence in July 2025.

We also have some opportunities for final year and recently graduated students. These are our Off-Cycle Internship Programmes, Graduate Insight Programme and our Global Graduate Programmes. The programmes are for final year students, recent graduates and post-graduates.
