Highlights from 2016 Bright Network Festival

On 12th September, we welcomed 1,500 bright students and 72 world-leading firms to our fifth and best Bright Network Festival. It was an inspirational day full of networking, talks and skills workshops, as students discovered the variety of incredible opportunities available to them. With UBS as Premier Sponsor, it truly was a day to remember.

We’ll be summing up top tips from the talks and skills sessions shortly - but for now, here’s a litle taster of the day.

The queue snaked around the building as bright students arrived early, ready for the day ahead. When 11am hit our team were on hand to scan tickets and welcome the smartly dressed students to our flagship event.

Bright Network Festival is all about making connections. Thousands of intelligent and inspirational conversations took place between 72 firms from a range of sectors and 1,500 Bright Network members looking to discover where their degree can take them.

The Tell Me About sessions were a great success as students explored a range of sectors. UBSZopa, M&S, Fidelity, AIG and E.ON all spoke about the brilliant career opportunities in their industry.

The day wasn’t all about discovery. Our members boosted their skills at workshops run by Premier Sponsor UBS and other top firms. Above, the National Theatre showed students how they can create a presence and get noticed.

The tour-de-force that is Gwyn Day shared his top tips to help students with their CVs, future assessment centres, interviews and commercial awareness. Over the course of ten sessions, our members gained invaluable insights and confidence when applying for their next opportunity.

It wouldn't be Bright Network Festival without freebies. From our famous orange notebooks and annual magazine to chocolate and popcorn, students went away with a wealth of information and goodies.

Champagne… what a perfect way to round off the day. We celebrated the success of our members who had recently secured a role with a partner firm.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended, firms and students, and a special thanks to our Premier Sponsor, UBS.
