EMEA Film Marketing Graduate Intern, Nathalie gives exlusive insights into her role at WarnerMedia and shares some highlights from her experience so far.
My role:
I work as the EMEA Film Marketing Graduate Intern! My role combines everything from working with various affinity partners such as Twitch, YouTube and Spotify to help produce creative assets for upcoming films, to reviewing title translations from over 40 different countries! Having studied Linguistics at Uni, I absolutely love getting to merge my interest in film with language intricacies and variations, as well as getting to share the odd hilarious mistranslations with my team.
One thing I’ve learnt so far:
Despite only having been at WarnerMedia for a month now, I don’t think I have ever acquired so much new knowledge and awareness in such a short space of time. I’ve studied film for many years and have always appreciated the extensive amount of effort and workload that goes into each release, but the past few weeks have truly opened my eyes to the millions of different elements and complexities alongside the precise attention to detail that comprises each WB release. Having had to work towards very tight deadlines across different markets, I’ve learnt all about the importance of working around different time zones…and also on how crucial it is to organise a consistently busy email inbox!
A project I’m looking forward to working on:
As a massive Matrix fan, I’m incredibly excited to work on the new film and see where the storyline will head after the previous releases and also now that only one Wachowski sister is working on it! Otherwise, my role also involves collaborating with Cartoon Network and Boomerang to help market and create synergy between certain titles, and I believe we will be doing so with DC Super Pets which I’m very much looking forward to.
What I’m looking forward to about returning to the office:
I really can’t wait to start working face to face with my team – they’re all so creative and inspiring so I’m really looking forward to having them in the office to discuss ideas together and grab coffee with. I’m also really fascinated by the other areas of WarnerMedia - particularly games - so I’m hoping to have the chance to meet interns specialising in other departments and hear about what they’re working on!
