As a Vodafone graduate, Lisa shares her experiences and what makes Vodafone different.
What is your favourite thing about working at Vodafone?
The level of responsibility given to you at a graduate level. During my previous role, I was expected to conduct interviews with 85 different stakeholders across 5 different countries to understand the root of certain issues for sales teams. Being given this level of responsibility as a graduate made me feel valued and trusted which is really important to me.
What has been the biggest surprise?
Vodafone’s flexible working tools! We can work anywhere in the world, anytime of the day as long as we have internet connection. It’s great to see a company that sells flexible working solutions to customers, practicing what they preach and enabling their employees to become flexible workers too.
Why is Vodafone different?
What makes Vodafone so unique for me is the variation of roles on offer to you as graduate. So far, I’ve worked in commercial, customer propositions, auditing, project management, website design and consulting. This level of variation is hard to find elsewhere and makes Vodafone Group stand out to me. I also love the focus on empowering women – Vodafone wants to be the Best Employer of Women by 2025 and there is a real drive towards gender equality and representation, something that I'm really passionate about.
Top tip for graduates applying to Vodafone’s Group Discover Programme
My tip for the Discovery Day would be to relax and enjoy the process! I was initially very nervous but when I got there I instantly felt more relaxed, as the current graduates and assessors were really open and encouraging, it felt like they wanted us to succeed on the day.
