Describe your role at Aon
I’m in the Mergers & Acquisitions division of Aon, a team that offers insurance related solutions and advisory services to a range of clients undergoing transactional activity. I’m currently on my second rotation in the Financial Lines team.
Typically, my days involve anything from setting up calls to speaking to companies about our insurance portfolio solutions, tailoring pitch presentations, or reviewing insurance policies for our Due Diligence team.
What stood out to you about Aon?
When applying for roles, Aon initially stood out because of their investment in early careers. They have lots of information online about graduate opportunities and videos from other graduates who are on the programme. I thought it would be a great place to start my career because of Aon’s dedication to training hundreds of graduates each year.
What skills are useful in your role?
Proactivity is useful as volunteering for things means more opportunities to learn and grow your career. Communication is significant as being concise and clear is essential when
speaking to stakeholders. And time management is a key skill because I’m rarely working on one project or task at a time.
