We caught up with Karolina to find out about her exciting Global Technology Graduate Programme at Schroders and her top tips for those who wish to follow in her footsteps.
Tell us a bit about yourself
Hi, I’m Karolina, one of the Global Technology Graduates at Schroders. I graduated in Financial Economics with Econometrics from the University of Kent, and I also did a Masters degree in Computing Science at Imperial College London.
What stood out to you about Schroders?
I was particularly drawn to the rotational structure of the 2-year graduate scheme. It is a rare opportunity to get exposed to various areas of technology such as data engineering, cyber security, software engineering, data science, web development, business analysis before you commit to one career path.
What is the culture like at the firm?
Every single person is friendly, helpful, and generous with their time. I don’t know any exceptions to that, even among senior management.
What would be your top tip to members going through the application process?
Make sure to demonstrate your soft skills – Schroders is looking for future leaders.
What’s your favourite aspect of your role at Schroders?
All my roles so far have been data-centric. Given the growing demand for data professionals, what I’m learning at Schroders are very marketable skills. This relevance is probably what I enjoy the most about being a graduate at Schroders.
Did Bright Network help you secure this role and, if so, how?
I was definitely using Bright Network to find out about other people’s experiences when I was searching for a graduate scheme.
