The majority of our roles do not ask for any specific degree type or backgrounds, and no experience is necessary. You will see across our assessment processes, we focus predominantly on your ability to demonstrate an alignment with our values, and a passion for the role you’ve applied to.
Our values underpin our working environment on a daily basis, so it’s important for us to see you demonstrate this potential to us during the selection process.
Firstly, you need to identify the right role for you! Not sure what you want to do? Check out our Business Areas and Training Programmes pages so you can determine the right pathway.

Apply
Check out our vacancies to see what we have available in each location. You can only make one application per campus year (1 September to 31 August) so make sure you select the role you feel is the best fit for you. Then you just need to complete the application form. Be honest and complete the form as thoroughly as possible. We don’t ask for cover letters, so you don’t need to spend hours writing this! A recruiter will then screen your application within five working days to ensure you meet the requirements for the position.
The recruitment process
Online Assessment – Bryq
This assessment focusses on, and gives us insight into, your numerical, verbal, logic, and attention to detail skills. You will also complete a personality profile that looks at our personality traits and values, to identify alignment to the key traits required for success in the role.
The assessment will take you around 20-30 minutes to complete and will provide us with extremely valuable success predictions for our trainee roles. The assessment allows us to gain an understanding of your potential within these areas.
Screening call
You will be invited to speak over the phone with a member of our Early Careers Talent Acquisition Team. We will be asking questions that will require you to demonstrate research into Blick Rothenberg, the role you’ve applied to, and the associated professional qualification.
In person Interview/Assessment Day
As the final step in the process, you will be invited to our Covent Garden office to attend an individual interview or assessment day. All positions will include an interview as the final stage of the process, but some positions will also include a group assessment. Our assessment day has three main components: an individual interview, group exercise & presentations from BR people. You will also receive a tour of our office.
You will interview with one or two members of the team, typically the team you hope to join. The interview will consist of scenario-based questions and motivational questions.
Top Tips
Online Assessment
Make sure that you are in a quiet space and free from distractions. We recommend having a pen, paper, and calculator to hand. Once the timer starts, it cannot be stopped or paused, so you need to be ready to focus for 20-30 minutes. Speak to friends/family/housemates and ask them not to disturb you or cause any distractions. We use Bryq as our assessment partner, and they provide sample questions to familiarise yourself with what to expect.
Screening Call
- Do your research. Most companies want to hear what you know about them, their role, and any associated qualifications you may undertake. Find a news story or press release that interests you, this will show your research ability and help you stand out.
- Make sure you answer the question asked! It sounds simple, but when I ask: “Why do you want to work at Blick Rothenberg” and you tell me about your work experience, this isn’t demonstrating a good attention to detail. Keep it relevant and try not to go off track.
- Be specific. Some companies might ask you what you understand about the job you’ve applied for. “Working with clients” and “responding to queries” could apply to pretty much every job out there. Don’t just rely on the job description to explain the role to you but do further research either by contacting current jobholders on LinkedIn, checking out the company website, or using other online resources.
