Meet Navneet: Line Leader at P&G

Navneet Budesha, Line Leader at the Manchester Pamper’s Plant.

'I am from Birmingham, and studied Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering at The University of Leeds.

When I started at the company, everyone was so nice and I felt so welcome, it felt like I had worked at the company for years. This made the next few months a lot easier as I felt like I could ask anyone for anything, I was never worried or scared of what they would think.

I was given a high level of responsibility from the start, as a Process Engineer I was put on one of the Mainline Babycare lines which was going through a challenging period. I was given a new defects system to train out to the whole of site. I owned systems for the line on a daily basis, and was held accountable but with the experience of my line team we came together to fight the daily challenges we faced on the line.

The Technical Leader got me involved in many hands-on tasks on the line to improve my technical knowledge and also trained me up on the daily routine of a maintenance planner. This lead to me being offered a Technical Leader role on another line just 9 months after starting with the company. This was such a great achievement for me to have developed the skills required for my new role. Everyone had so much respect for me even being so young in the company, they didn’t mind the hundreds of questions I would ask them. The transition was so smooth, I felt like I had all the resources and people to help me succeed in my new role and to ensure line stability improved and we provided the results which we needed to thrive.'
