Meet Abi, Infrastructure Engineer at Buro Happold

I'm Abi, my engineering journey started at the University of Exeter, where I studied Civil and Environmental Engineering. After graduating, I joined Buro Happold as a Graduate Infrastructure Engineer in the Bath office. Over the past 3 years, I've advanced to the role of Infrastructure Engineer and have had the opportunity to work on exciting projects around the world.

I chose to specialize in infrastructure because of the incredible opportunity to assess masterplans for proposed cities and contribute to their design. Knowing that I had a hand in shaping a city that may one day be constructed is an amazing feeling.

What truly makes my experience at Buro Happold special are the people. My team in Bath is made up of over 30 engineers that have all in some way supported me on my journey. The company fosters a close-knit community with small, supportive teams. The Young Employees Forum (YEF) plays a significant role in this. Much like a university society, they organize knowledge-sharing sessions, outreach programs, and networking events (aka a social), including two camping trips each year!
