Operations Managment

Hear from Charles about his experience in operations.

How did you find your induction into the Ops Managment programme?

The 3-day induction offered the first opportunity to build important connections with my fellow graduates, listen to influential directors of the company give key advice for our career path and a fantastic insight into the environment Compass operate within as the event was hosted in one of their prestigious venues. The induction program helped to answer any concerns and create the foundation for an exciting future.

What do you do on a daily basis?

Every day is an opportunity to discover, learn and perform an exciting role within the O2 Arena with an attendance of up to 20,000 guests. My learning is structured to work closely with each department to gain an understanding of the overall preparation and showcase of events. The different styles of hospitality I am exposed to daily along with the endless variety of events is invaluable.

What is the best thing about your job?

I am very fortunate to be working at the O2 Arena, one of many Levy UK's exciting entertainment/sporting venues. The variety, experiences and responsibilities I have already gained within my role have been amazing. I feel proud to be involved in a venue which helps cater events such as The ATP World Tour and The Brits. Equally so I value the opportunity to work closely and gain advice from experienced team members who have a wealth of knowledge surrounding the hospitality industry.

Marketing

Sophie shares her experience in a marketing role.

I create briefs for our Point Of Sale (POS) (which is used in units), send out weekly communication updates, create content for execution manuals and ‘how-to guides’, help co-ordinate our photoshoots, keep our internal intranet page up-to-date, plus lots more.

Which skills/experience are key for your role?

Great attention to detail, be a good team player, be able to work independently, organised, committed, be able to use your initiative, ambitious, good execution, communication, analytical skills, optimistic outlook.

What are the best things about your job?

The fact that the job role is mobile keeps my day-to-day job interesting as no two days are the same, and I’m always visiting new and interesting places.
