LCP’s Winchester Office

By LCP
Book open Reading time: 4 mins

We offer opportunities for graduates and undergraduates at both our London and Winchester offices. If you are interested in working in our Pensions Actuarial or Investment Consulting departments, consider building your career from our Winchester office as part of our graduate programme or summer internship.

Our Winchester office is in St Paul’s House. We occupy all four levels - on the Ground, First and Second floors you will find our desk spaces and various departments, with meeting rooms, collaboration spaces and tea points. While the Third floor accommodates our client suite of meeting rooms, a contemplation room and a large staff breakout and kitchen space. We have our own private roof terrace, complete with dining facilities and lounge areas.

The office is located within walking distance to all the local cafes and restaurants and is also situated next door to Winchester Rail Station, providing quick and easy transport links.

There are many reasons why some of our employees choose to work from the Winchester office. They might have grown up in Winchester; gone to one of the local Universities and wish to stay; or simply don’t feel that working in London is right for them but still want access to the same level of city calibre clients, career opportunities and modern working environment.

Don’t just take our word for it, we’ve asked some of our employees why they choose to work in Winchester

“Highlights of the Winchester office include the standing desks, delicious coffee, a stunning roof terrace, and the bright green carpets. The best thing about the office, however, are its people. It is always lively with people and has an incredibly friendly atmosphere. It is very easy to ask any questions you may have to the people around you, whether they are a new graduate or a partner.

There are also regular office or department socials, including weekly quizzes, subsidised theatre trips and an annual summer party. This helps maintain and develop the friendly atmosphere of LCP Winchester, within your own department and with other departments.

The city of Winchester is beautiful and filled with stunning architecture. I love its proximity to cities such as London and Southampton, while simultaneously being surrounded by the natural beauty of the South Downs. The city becomes even more charming during the festive season, with its famous Christmas market!”

“I joined LCP as a graduate. I first lived in Winchester then moved to Southampton and I currently live in London. The Winchester office is right next to the train station, so it is very easily accessible. My current commute from London takes me just over an hour and I use the time to study for upcoming exams. My commute from Southampton was around half an hour so the Winchester office is really well connected to nearby cities. I love coming down to the Winchester office and making the most of my time there. The office has great spaces for catching up with colleagues about work or using one of the offices to join a client meeting or have a quiet space to focus on work. I usually spend lunch in the hub or if the weather is nice out on the terrace, the top floor is a great space to have a break from work and catch up with friends - there is also table tennis!

As part of the actuarial department in Winchester I work closely with a range of colleagues from Partners to Analysts daily. In my department, we hot desk so I sit next to someone different every time I’m in the office. I have always had lots of support whether this be from my study mentor or buddy or being able to ask questions to whoever is nearby. Once a month we have a department wide breakfast in the hub which is a great time to catch up with everyone. Recently we’ve had the office bake off so there’s been lots of nice treats to enjoy and the money raised all goes to charity.

LCP has lots of charity events to get involved in from walks to bake sales and each employee has a day a year they can use to volunteer somewhere. There’s also always lots of socials happening; these are usually a mix of team socials or office wide socials. As a team we have a social roughly every month, over the past year we’ve been bowling, had a games night in the hub, played shuffleboard in Southampton and had a few pub trips. The social committee organises larger office wide socials such as theatre trips, comedy nights, quiz nights and the summer or winter party. The DEI groups host a range of events from yoga classes to talks with external speakers and speed networking as part of the women’s network with food and drinks. These events are always a really good place to meet people across the whole firm in different departments and across both offices. We also have lots of sports to get involved in, I play with both the Winchester and London netball teams, we also have football, badminton and cricket in the summer and lots more happening year-round.”
