We spoke to Janet Johnson, who last year received The Worshipful Company of Insurers Scholarship and is currently studying an MSc at Bayes Business School.
Please tell us a little about yourself
I am Janet Johnson, a former student of Biology at the esteemed University of Kent. Hailing from a socioeconomically disadvantaged background, I hold the distinction of being the inaugural member of my immediate family to partake in higher education. Following the completion of my undergraduate studies, I dedicated two years to working in the medical sector. However, harbouring a fervent aspiration to embark upon a professional path centred around finance and insurance, I opted to redirect my career trajectory. My intention was to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the insurance world, moving away from medicine.
How did you hear about the scholarship?
