Hi I’m Helene! I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at Hult International Business School. Early in my degree and through the help of our careers team, I learned that work experience was necessary to secure a grad position, so during my studies, I completed several internships to explore different roles, from digital marketing to solutions consulting.

What was your role with Adobe?

I did a 12-month Solutions Consulting Internship full-time, where I worked closely with our solutions consulting and sales teams. Since the teams are customer-facing, I got to work on several customer projects and present for them throughout the internship programme.

What inspired you to apply for this role with Adobe?

If I’m honest, I wasn’t sure what a Solutions Consultant did until a week into my internship, so what inspired me to apply for this role was to learn from a company that puts great experiences and creativity at the forefront of the business. From the job description, I was also aware that I would work with customers and help solve their business challenges and that was something I found exciting and wanted to learn more about.

What was been the single most important thing you learned from your job?

The single most important thing I learned from my job was the importance of communication. As a Solutions Consulting Intern, when I worked on customer projects, I had to communicate with customers, people in my team and people across different departments, so knowing how to communicate effectively was crucial.

What would a ‘normal’ day look like for an intern at Adobe?

Every day was different, so there was never really a ‘normal day’. Each day started by going into the office in the morning, working on customer projects and attending meetings. After going for lunch with other colleagues and interns, I’d come back and start working on customer projects again. We’d then go to an Adobe social, or a pub visit after work.

What do you find most interesting about the industry?

What I find most interesting about the tech industry is that it’s constantly moving. Things are changing all the time and you must adapt and continuously innovate to stay ahead of the game.

What is the company culture like?

I would say that the company culture at Adobe is very friendly, inclusive, hardworking and fun. Adobe’s core values are genuine, exceptional, innovative and involved – I feel like this can be reflected in the people I worked with. If I had any challenges, people were more than happy to help and if I wanted to set up any introduction meetings to meet people across different departments, they always said yes.

How important is diversity to you and what is Adobe doing in this space at the moment?

Diversity is incredibly important to me, especially being a person of colour and woman in the tech industry. Based on what I experienced, Adobe is definitely working towards creating a more diverse workforce in its recruitment process and ensuring that its employees are feeling included as well. They’ve got employee networks, such as Women at Adobe, Pride at Adobe, Black Employee Network, training sessions, workshops events and more that everyone can take part in.

Finally, any tips for anyone who’d like to apply for a role at Adobe?

The advice I would give to anyone who’d like to apply for a role at Adobe is to do your research. Know what the company is all about, the company culture and its offerings. Think about what value you can bring to the business, whether that’s the skills you’ve developed from clubs and societies, internships or part-time jobs. Don’t forget to focus on why you want to work at Adobe and make sure that shines through in your interviews. You got this!
