Berenberg appealed to me as a University student given the flexibility and wide variety of opportunities offered across the Investment Bank, something that I could not find anywhere else. As a student, it is likely that you do not know the exact role you want to take part in following University (even if you do, it will probably change!) – so having the chance to rotate for an entire year across all areas of the Investment Bank has been a great learning curve.
Throughout the program, you are encouraged to explore all interests, build a wide network and gain a holistic understanding of financial markets. There is a social and collegiate culture at Berenberg, that facilitates enthusiastic and sociable people to thrive regardless of academic background. The year has certainly lived up to and exceeded expectations, and I now find myself on the Hedge Fund Sales desk full time, having spent time in Equity Research and Investment Banking. I would highly recommend exploring opportunities at Berenberg, where you will find unmatched variety, structured training and a great sociable culture.
