Frazer-Nash Consultancy hosts its annual Pride week

This week, Frazer-Nash Consultancy held its 2022 Pride week – an annual event in the company’s diversity and inclusion calendar, which aims to bring colleagues together in a colourful celebration of Pride.

Organised by the company’s own ‘Pride and Allies group’, colleagues across Frazer-Nash’s UK offices donned their custom-made Pride t-shirts and met during the week for a range of occasions, including Pride picnics in local parks, and workshops on allyship.

Peter Geering, a founding member of the Pride and Allies group, said:

"The arrangements for Pride week at Frazer-Nash have been a real team effort from the Pride and Allies group. Members have written articles, prepared a presentation for our workshop on LGBTQ+ allyship, organised picnics, and run a competition to produce the design for this year’s Pride t shirt.

“Over the last couple of weeks, I have had a growing sense of excitement as I have seen everyone’s hard work come together, and now the week is here it is great to see so many of our colleagues engaging so enthusiastically with the celebrations. The Pride and Allies group has been a real source of support to me over the last two years, so the highlight of the week for me will be when the group meets in person for the first time in Bristol."

On Thursday, Network Rail’s Shane Andrews MBE visited the company’s Bristol office to give a talk on diversity and inclusion. Shane volunteers as Chair of Archway, an LGBT employee network, which promotes a strategy of diversity and inclusion within Network Rail.

Shane was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in the New Year’s Honours list 2021 for services to diversity and inclusion.

Frazer-Nash’s Defence Director, Tim Andrews, also added:

“We were really looking forward to being able to celebrate and meet in person this year, following the last two years of virtual events. It’s heart-warming to see that so many of our colleagues are comfortable to be their authentic selves at work, and to show others that Frazer-Nash is an organisation that values all diversity.

“Pride for me is a celebration of diversity and inclusion, but it’s also a visible recognition of, and response to, the challenges that the LGBTQ+ community faces. I hope through continuing to celebrate Frazer-Nash Pride we create a truly inclusive workplace, where we can all be the best versions of ourselves, and proud to say so, too!”

“Pride is much more than a celebration, it is also an opportunity to reflect on how far there still is to go for full inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, this week we will all have the opportunity to join with our Pride colleagues to learn more about the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and how we can all stand up and support our colleagues.”
