Communications Intern Victoria explains our recruitment process

What is your role at Pernod Ricard?

I work in Communications and Engagement in our Global Travel Retail business.

Victoria

What motivated you to apply for your role?

I was motivated to apply for my role in Communications and Engagement within Global Travel Retail at Pernod Ricard because it perfectly blended internal and external facing responsibilities, offering a comprehensive experience. The opportunity to work on press releases, collaborate with brand managers, and contribute to marketing strategies really appealed to me, as did the chance to create impactful content for our internal learning platforms and to manage our communications channels. This role has allowed me to develop my skills in a creative and fast-paced global environment, while contributing to the success of Pernod Ricard’s iconic brand portfolio.

What was your application journey like?

My application journey was smooth and well-supported. After applying online and completing numeracy and literacy assessments, I was invited to an assessment centre at the Pernod Ricard offices in London, where we participated in group tasks and interviews. Throughout the process, Bright Network was in regular contact, providing guidance and ensuring I had everything I needed, from answering queries to making me feel fully prepared for each stage, right through to the start of my contract.

What can someone expect from the assessment centre?

At the assessment centre, you can expect a comprehensive experience that goes beyond standard interviews and group tasks. We were given a tour of the office, learned about the history of some of Pernod Ricard’s brands, and even got to make cocktails, which was a fun way to engage with the company’s products. There was also an opportunity to meet the team we were applying to during the interview process, which made the environment feel welcoming and gave a better sense of the role and company culture.

What have you learned from going through the process?

Going through the process, I’ve learned the importance of preparation, adaptability, and clear communication. The assessments helped me develop problem-solving skills under pressure, while the group tasks and interviews taught me how to collaborate effectively and present ideas confidently. I also gained valuable insight into the company’s culture and values, which reinforced the importance of aligning my personal strengths with the needs of the role.
