What stood out to you about Aon?
I took part in Aon & Bright Network’s Women in Actuarial Consulting Insight Programme before I made my decision to join Aon – it’s the best choice I’ve made! I was assigned a mentor as part of the programme who was patient, friendly, and wished me luck before my assessment day. They even connected with me after I joined the company.
Since working at Aon, I have received such useful training and was given responsibility early on, I feel valued all the time.
There are many interesting opportunities here to explore, for example, I will be traveling to America for a 2-week training programme, and I recently completed a workshop with clients from Japan. This included a city tour, River Thames cruise, a cocktail party, a pasta making session and so much more! Every day at Aon is challenging but fun.
What skills are useful in your role?
Problem solving is essential for an actuarial analyst. A good understanding of statistics, some basic programming knowledge (R, VBA) and Excel skills are very helpful.
