An Insight Into Working at Berenberg: Charlotte

Charlotte launched her career with Berenberg's International Graduate Programme and had the chance to rotate around teams, choosing her favourite to join full-time. She shared some thoughts on her time at the bank with us.

Charlotte Barrie, Equity Research Analyst

International Graduate Programme 2019

As a humanities graduate, Berenberg stood out to me as somewhere that is looking to welcome graduates with a broad variety of skillsets from different academic backgrounds. With training courses, networking events and the chance to rotate around different areas of the bank, the IGP is designed to give a thorough and enjoyable introduction both to Berenberg itself and the industry.

I rotated through two different research teams, sales and ECM and have now joined the UK Mid Cap research team full-time. I think this role suits me particularly well firstly because of its breadth - a single day could involve time spent adjusting a model, writing a note, or discussing Ideas with clients - but also because I enjoy being part of a large and collaborative team where I have the opportunity to learn from different people. The fact that I have done the other rotations as well means that I now have relationships across the bank - the departments all work together very closely so having this experience and network comes in very handy. It also makes It easier to get involved with the social side of Berenberg - I've joined the netball team and taken part in quizzes and other competitions as a result of meeting different people.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my career develops here!
