A huge Tanya for securing a Vacation Scheme with Deloitte. Here she gives us some useful insights into how she found the process and gives a few tips for future applicants.
Why did you choose this firm and this role?
Deloitte is known for its high-quality service and global presence. I knew it would offer me a very in-depth experience of the commercial world in the short span of the summer.
What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?
Deloitte had changed their application process for the year and as a result, the toughest part was probably dealing with an entirely new process and not knowing what to expect. My favourite part of the process was, however, that each step was highly engaging and interactive.
Were you surprised by anything in the process?
I was quite surprised by the fact that it all took place online.
What three top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members?
The top three tips I would give are:
- Know for sure what role you want, and why you want it. Only then will your passion come through.
- Try and make use of all the networking events and opportunities that come your way before and during the process.
- As cliche as it might seem, be yourself because ultimately, they will be picking you for your individuality and skills.
How has Bright Network helped you?
Bright Network was a great help throughout the process of finding an internship. At the start of the year, the Bright Network Festival was a great platform for looking at all the options I had available to me and determining what I'd want to apply for. The emails, reminders and phone calls kept me informed and up to date with the vacancies. Finally, the content on the website is particularly handy when preparing for any stage of the application.
