Lauren is a Business and Management graduate from the University of Exeter. She secured an Associate Project Delivery graduate role at KBR in Leatherhead through Bright Network.
First, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I went to university a little bit unsure of what I wanted to do after, which is why I took business, to keep my options open.
I’m a sociable person so wanted a job that reflected that and then fell in love with the idea of project management.”
What motivated you to apply for the role?
“I was looking for any graduate schemes that had rotations, as I wanted the opportunity to try different things and gain experience in lots of different areas.”
What was the application process like?
“I submitted my application online, then had a phone interview, followed by an assessment centre.
I was most nervous for the assessment centre day, especially the presentation section.”
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?
“I saw the job application advertised on Bright Network, which is how I found out about the role.”
What are you most proud of about your journey?
“I’m most proud of the fact I was able to secure a job straight out of university as it can be difficult, so I’m super proud I was able to achieve this.”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“My advice is to just be yourself and you will find a job and company that’s best suited to you.”
What have you learned from going through the process?
“You have to apply to so many jobs and often have a lot of rejection before you find the right one!”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new people on my scheme and gaining my qualifications.”
