We recently caught up with Latika about how she secured a Corporate Finance Analyst role with Deutsche Bank, making an application stand out and top tips for Bright Network members looking to follow in her footsteps.
What stood out to you about Deutsche Bank?
I first heard about Deutsche Bank and their opportunities through Bright Network’s Internship Experience UK programme. During this event, I gained an insight into their Corporate Finance division and the culture of the bank. The international presence and the potential learning opportunities at Deutsche Bank stood out to me.
How did you make your application stand out?
I tried to make my application as personal as I could by highlighting what I found interesting about the role and the company. Commercial awareness is a key aspect of any application and I focused on showcasing how I had a good understanding of current events impacting the financial markets.
What part of the application process did you find the most challenging?
I found preparing for the assessment centre the most challenging part of the application process. I focused on researching the company by reaching out to people and reading articles about Deutsche Bank as well as the industry. The assessment centre, however, was a very enjoyable and intellectually stimulating process.

How did Bright Network help you secure the role?
Bright Network introduced me to Deutsche Bank through their Internship Experience UK programme. This programme was very helpful as I was able to gain real experience by working on a project, networking with likeminded individuals and hearing from people across the industry. Bright Network also have a huge array of resources which I used to prepare for my interviews.
Bright Network Academy was a very useful resource which I used for practicing psychometric tests. I also found the commercial awareness modules incredibly useful!
What top three tips would you give Bright Network members looking to follow in your footsteps?
- Network: Speak to current graduates at the firm or people who went through the same interview process as you to understand the bank.
- Research: Do as much research as you can by using the bank’s website, social media channels and reading reports such as their ESG or quarterly profit reports.
- Practice: Keep practicing psychometric tests and interview questions so you can master the art and ace the application process!
