We’re looking for a Delivery & Imports Assistant to work in the Delivery Booking & Imports team at YOURS, focusing on our inbound UK bookings. Working as part of the team, you’ll manage deliveries into our UK warehouses, across all modes from our global suppliers, working closely with multiple suppliers, forwarders, and the Buying and Merchandising teams at YOURS Head Office.
With your keen eye for attention and excellent problem solving skills, you will oversee daily bookings with our UK suppliers and Freight Forwarders, making sure that our stock is shipped, booked, and delivered on time.
What you will do
- Monitor and process booking requests from our suppliers and forwarders.
- Schedule inbound stock deliveries into our Peterborough warehouses.
- Ensure correct procedures are being followed and monitoring non-compliance.
- You will collate and manage shipping documents required for shipment clearance and delivery.
- You will liaise with teams internally and externally to ensure smooth and timely handling of the stock intake process, including preventing and resolving issues with the warehouse intake teams.
- Able to follow [and suggest improvements on] key business processes within the department with a view to improving performance levels, management of shipping space and warehousing space and reviewing the associated costs.
- The ability to work on general administration tasks, make confident and informed decisions, and effectively manage & prioritise your time and workload.
What you will bring
- IT literate – fully conversant in Microsoft package (Word/Excel/Outlook) and can confidently handle numeric data.
- The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as to think strategically and laterally.
- Is an excellent communicator and builds strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders of the business.
- Can work confidently both collaboratively and solo.
- Excellent ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and keeping to deadlines.
- You will be enthusiastic, and able to quickly adapt to fast changing circumstances.
- Are willing to be flexible and accommodate some out of hours issues, should they arise.
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced office environment is essential.
- Previous experience in handling transport bookings and overseas freight management experience would be advantageous.
