We are looking for students to join the team starting July 2025, for a 12-month industrial placement to gain real-world, hands-on experience within our exciting, market-leading company.
We are looking for highly motivated university students with a clear passion for engineering and innovative technology, keen to gain skills and knowledge in a fast-paced design, development, and manufacturing environment.
The role
The successful candidates will work as part of a dedicated engineering team on customer projects and will be mentored and coached throughout their placement. You will have the freedom to innovate and develop solutions to real challenges. Successful candidates will likely come from an engineering background and be able to demonstrate a keen approach to new challenges and an eye for detail.
You will also have the opportunity to choose an individual project, which will allow you to test the skills you have developed and provide the basis for a report and presentation at the end of your placement to satisfy any requirements of your academic course. This will also provide an opportunity to own a project, demonstrate responsibility and develop interpersonal skills within an engineering environment.
As well as developing an understanding of axial-flux motor technology and key manufacturing methods, you will also gain an understanding of the following working within our Development team:
- An understanding of components and robustness.
- Work hands-on with test equipment to aid product development.
- Carry out data analysis and draw conclusions on results to produce engineering reports.
- Present and discuss data and results to internal and external customers.
- Learn and use engineering and quality processes such as root cause analysis, FMEA's and 8D.
- Assist in specification drafting and requirements management to ensure designs fulfil performance criteria.
