Xtrac are looking for driven and enthusiastic students for our undergraduate industrial placement opportunities for 2025 to 2026. As part of our award-winning scheme, students will work in Engineering as a Trainee Design Engineer, a Trainee Design Analyst, Trainee Mechatronics Engineer or a Trainee R&D Engineer.
The industrial placements roles will start in August 2025. We offer a busy and unique place of work, with both design and production under one roof, and exposure to different disciplines across the Mechanical Engineering sector.
The level of responsibility and type of project you would work on, will depend on your ability to rise to the challenges set, but the expectation is that you will become an integrated, contributing member of the engineering team. Xtrac placement students only work on “real” projects which ultimately end up on race cars and specialist vehicles!
These opportunities will be in our Design Office or Advanced Engineering Group and have had huge success in previous years, providing further opportunities and career paths for those with the drive to succeed.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for committed candidates that are either a student of aeronautical, automotive, mechanical engineering, or are undertaking a similar Bachelors or Master’s Degree in their second (of three) or third (of four) year of study.
Good academic results are a pre-requisite, as is an interest in automotive engineering. Experience in a motorsport environment is desirable but not essential. The successful candidates must be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and be willing to work additional hours where necessary.
If you are passionate and innovative then Xtrac could be the place for you to thrive.
